Before Trump decided to destroy the Canadian economy, Canadians were WELL aware of our own homegrown problems. This is why the Liberal government was polling at 17% in the polls and the Conservatives at 47%. In Canada! We were almost guaranteed to have, within months, the most free-market Prime Minister ever to occupy the office. (As for Poilievre's waffling statements: what else is he supposed to say to win over swing voters?)

Now that Trump has turned the Liberals into defenders of Canada, in two months the Liberals have made up ALL of that polling gap.

If Trump had just stayed out of the way, Canada would have become much more American in its economy. But that wouldn't give Trump enough to complain about, would it?

Bottom line: we ARE looking in the mirror. Or at least we were, until America started getting in the way. America wanted to "help" Iraq look in the mirror. That didn't turn out too well for Iraq or America.
