This is so excellent and well-written. It also describes me to a T. Only difference is that in 2016 in PA, I was Santorum, then Rubio, then Kasich for whom I departed the Democrats to register as a Republican in the primary. Then, finally, Trump. I’ve lost no real friends over the election, but did lose a freelance job of 17 years at the Philadelphia Inquirer because of my conservatism (they suffered with me under Bush and Obama but Trump was a bridge too far.) Ultimately I really no longer care. It is what it is. But I don’t blame Trump. I blame his haters (and in some cases, his followers.) I don’t even really hate Biden. Life goes in and I have adapted to being authentic, and slightly less “accompanied” by people who were apparently not really friends to begin with.
Thanks, Christine, and congrats on the substitute gig for our mutual friend Chris Stigall. I remember well when the Inky booted you. Love your comment and associate with it 100%.
