Real Story about Wyoming's Election Isn't about Liz
Who turned out to vote may portend November's coming Tsunami
While pundits are focusing on the shiny object that is the badly defeated US Rep. Liz Cheney (and I’ll have a few things to say about her tomorrow) and her new grift, they are missing what may be the real story.
WYOMING PRIMARY TURNOUT
Republican
2018: 117,752
2022: 170,584 (+45%)
Democratic
2018: 19,459
2022: 7,542 (-61%)
OVERALL Primary Turnout (42 states)
Republicans +19% from 2018
Democrats -7% from 2018
Primary Electorate:
2018: Democrats +6
2022: Republicans +6
Holy cow. Republicans showed up in droves. Democrats stayed home. This, despite a tongue-in-check endorsement of Cheney by former US Senator (D-MN) and ex-Saturday Night Live comedian Al Franken. That jokester! Always funny!
This is consistent with data from primary elections across the United States.
Ignore the typically wrong August polling. A tsunami is coming. Grab a surfboard, and don’t miss it.
