Coming: The Left's Summer of Violence
Forthcoming controversial Supreme Court decisions, coupled with horrific electoral prospects have The Left poised for violence while they ignore forces behind mass shootings, like cannabis.
We’re still 12 days from the official start of summer, but it’s here.
And summer finds the electorate’s mood beyond sour. People everywhere scowl at record-setting fuel prices, double-digit inflation for food and other necessities, and largely government-caused infant formula shortages. Supply chain snafus and other forces also frustrate new home buyers waiting months for windows and appliances.
New homes that used to be built in six months are now taking 12 months or longer. A Facebook friend recently warned of a year’s wait to replace a dishwasher. People believe we’re headed to a recession. Most believe a recession is already here (for the record, it’s not, but stay tuned). Owners of 401(k) retirement and investment accounts that invest in equities have seen their savings drop by double digits or more since January. Retired Americans are returning to work, unable to make ends meet on fixed incomes shrinking in value before their frightened eyes.
But that’s not all. Crime festers and grows from what seems to be a spate of horrific mass shootings to an abject failure of prosecutors to enforce gun law violations. At the same time, politicians seek to capitalize on tragedies. Prisons seem to feature revolving doors. Families feel under assault from teacher unions, unsafe streets, neighborhoods, and a flood of illegal immigrants crossing our border welcomed with plenty of infant formula and airplane and bus rides to every state.
Meanwhile, our political betters ignore evidence that heavy cannabis use, especially among young males, triggers alienation and psychosis, leading to mass shootings, all while politicians continue to push for recreational legalization.
Don’t believe me? Former New York Times reporter and author/blogger Alex Berenson documents it all with his book, “Tell Your Children.” A few conclusions of Berenson’s investigative work on Cannabis from his website’s summary of the book:
• Almost no one is in prison for marijuana;
• A tiny fraction of doctors write most authorizations for medical marijuana, mostly for people who have already used;
• Marijuana use is linked to opiate and cocaine use. Since 2008, the US and Canada have seen soaring marijuana use and an opiate epidemic. Britain has falling marijuana use and no epidemic;
• Most of all, THC—the chemical in marijuana responsible for the drug’s high—can cause psychotic episodes. After decades of studies, scientists no longer seriously debate if marijuana causes psychosis.
"Psychosis brings violence, and cannabis-linked violence is spreading. In the four states that first legalized, murders have risen 25 percent since legalization, even more than the recent national increase. In Uruguay, which allowed retail sales in July 2017, murders have soared this year.
Spend time with the latest study by the Rocky Mountain High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (RMHIDTA) about how legal week has affected Colorado. Interestingly, that study has been removed from the RMHIDTA’s official website, but it has been saved elsewhere. I smell mischief, or worse. Big weed is a well-funded, well-connected, and bipartisan monster.
Parkland High School’s shooter was a heavy cannabis user. So, reportedly, was the Ulvade shooter, although evidence of that has been withheld. Same for others. One of several patterns: alienated young men, mental illness, absent fathers, etc.
While normal Americans are poised to vent at the polls in November, at least they aren’t taking to the streets in violence. That’s reserved for the angriest if not the most violent segment of society - The Left.
The Biden Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) say otherwise. Justice says it’s school parents angry at school boards for what their children are being taught. The FBI and Department of Homeland Security repeatedly say that it’s “white supremacy.” And the Senate Majority Leader, Democrat Chuck Schumer, claims all Trump supporters - “MAGA Republicans” - ascribe to the nutty “Great Replacement” theory held by fringy white supremacists.
Normal Americans instinctively know better, but no matter: The politicization of federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies is on full display. We’ve seen the same politicization of the “J6” riot, from 25,000 National Guard troops stationed at the Capitol for several months to miles of fencing and concertina wire to keep people away from their Capitol building. Tours and visits to the Capitol, while slowly returning, are far from normal. And the J6 special House Committee was illegitimately organized, opaque, and partisan. It is a joke and an embarrassment, a veritable kangaroo court.
They know that while Antifa and Black Lives Matter-associated protestors wrecked $2 billion in damage across some 200 cities in 2020 - killing one police officer and injuring hundreds more - many were barely arrested before returning to the streets. Meanwhile, a few hundred unarmed rioters at the US Capitol on January 6th continue to fester in jails before trials are held. No courthouse revolving door for them.
So when the US Supreme Court announces several upcoming decisions - most of which The Left won’t like - don’t be surprised if violence from The Left takes center stage again. And soon.
It’s already happening. Let’s start with this from National Review.
Nicholas John Roske was charged with attempting or threatening to murder or kidnap a Supreme Court justice Wednesday after traveling to Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home armed with a Glock handgun, intent on killing the justice over his expected rulings in ongoing cases related to abortion and the Second Amendment.
Roske, 26, of Simi Valley, Calif., was identified as the suspect in an affidavit unsealed Wednesday afternoon. Roske told law enforcement that he called 911 to turn himself in because he was having suicidal thoughts, also telling the operator that he intended to kill a “specific” Supreme Court justice, according to the affidavit.
Roske was subsequently arrested, and officers found a Glock 17 pistol with two magazines, as well as a tactical knife, pepper spray, and other items such as a hammer and screwdriver.
He cited Roe v. Wade and concerns that Kavanaugh would support a pro-gun view. The irony is that he possessed a Glock 17 pistol and ammunition.
Pro-abortion terrorists also firebombed a Buffalo pro-life clinic. National Review, again. They further bombed or attacked a pro-life pregnancy center in Wisconsin. But Democratic politicians care more about protecting pro-abortion facilities.
Pro-abortion terrorists firebombed a pro-life Christian pregnancy center in Buffalo, N.Y. on Tuesday, inflicting significant damage on the building and vandalizing the remains with their organization’s name.
Pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge, which has developed a reputation for resorting to violence, claimed responsibility for the attack, which left glass shattered and much of the interior of the CompassCare office burned and destroyed, CBN News reported.
The arsonists left graffiti on a wall that read, “Jane Was Here.” The organization has committed multiple such incidents in the last few months, including one in which it firebombed the headquarters of Wisconsin Family Action (WFA), a pro-life group in Madison, Wis. last month. There, the terrorists left the message, “If abortions aren’t safe, then you aren’t either.”
“Ironically, New York’s Governor not only ignored the violence but instead earmarked $35 million in taxpayer funds to increase security at abortion clinics,” CompassCare said in a statement. “Adding insult to injury the New York legislature passed a bill investigating pro-life pregnancy centers precisely because they do not perform abortions.”
Jane’s Revenge also admitted that it threw red paint on the the front door of a crisis pregnancy center in Washington, D.C. last week, spray painting “Jane Says Revenge” on the side of the building.
History tells us that The Left has a long history of violence and terrorism. Let’s just use the US Capitol as our guide. On November 7, 1983, an all-female-led terrorist group, the so-called May 19th or M19 group, including Susan Rosenberg, bombed the Capitol Building just outside the Senate Majority Leader’s office (S-208, the Capitol). They bombed other sites around Washington, including Fort McNair and Washington’s Navy Yard. No J6 protestors planted a bomb in the Capitol or were charged for the deaths of any officers. The only person killed that terrible day was a protestor and Air Force veteran, Ashley Babbit, by Capitol police officer Michael Byrd.
Rosenberg and a couple of her associates were convicted of other crimes and spent several years in prison. Until she was pardoned by President Bill Clinton the day before he left office in 2001. Rosenberg now famously helps raise money for Black Lives Matter.
This summer, what might prompt violence - excuse me, mostly peaceful protests? The New York Times provides a useful guide. We already know how much of the media will cover it.
Roe v. Wade: We already know about the unprecedented leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion written by Justice Samuel Aliso in February. Overturning Roe returns the abortion issue to the states, but The Left categorizes this in inaccurate and apocalyptic ways.
New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen: This challenge, heard in November last year, involves a New York law restricting a gun owner’s ability to carry a concealed weapon. The court may find their law violates well-established rights to self-defense.
West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency. Some see this as a challenge to the Biden climate change agenda and the ability of the EPA to regulate multiple versus a single power plant.
There are others, but all three touch the third rails of The Left: abortion, guns, and climate change. And when things don’t go their way, and they likely won’t, bad things are guaranteed to happen.
This portends to be a challenging summer. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
