Finally, DOGE Speaks Up
Lacking an effective communications strategy, DOGE is under a relentless barrage of unsubstantiated attacks and propaganda about its motivations and work. They finally spoke to Fox News's Bret Baier
Well-funded and powerful propagandists, including Democrats in Congress, are spewing a lot of unproven assaults on what's motivating Elon Musk and the whole DOGE process. Most Americans support their actions, even as they move quickly and make a few mistakes. They're openly correcting them.
And there are the inevitable consequences, frequently painful, of terminating jobs through reorganizations and layoffs. Those of us who’ve been through those in the corporate world - sometimes more than once - relate.
It interests me that those attacking DOGE offer either 1) no evidence or 2) no support for reducing waste, fraud, and abuse in government, which we all know exists, not to mention unsustainable growth in deficit spending. Worse, they’re inciting violence and destruction of property directed at Musk. We now spend more to service our $36 trillion public debt than we spend on our entire national defense, a fact lost to many of these mindless actors and actresses.
I've been mostly critical not of their work and mistakes but of the lack of a communications strategy and plan to address the media's tendency to parrot and amplify the attacks. The DOGE.gov website is engaging but not user-friendly. Team DOGE finally appeared for an actual interview with Fox News's top journalist, Bret Baier. This 30-minute interview is worth your time.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, now Trump’s nominee as Ambassador to Israel, said it best via his morning newsletter yesterday:
The real issue that Democrats have with DOGE is not that they’re threatening harm to regular Americans. It’s that they’re threatening to dismantle a bureaucratic monstrosity that they’ve spent years building up and that both exerts control over citizens beyond that of our elected representatives and that funnels billions of taxpayer dollars to the Democrat power structure. They hate DOGE for the same reason that any blood-sucking parasite like a tick would hate the doctor that separates it from its host.
Team DOGE is more specific than the people attacking them. Democrats are using Alinsky-style attacks on Elon Musk to discredit his work and defend government inefficiency, mismanagement, and worse. More of this, please, Team DOGE.
